I chose this book because I had really enjoyed the first book. I wanted to know what happened in the second book so I decided to read it. Also my sister had read it and she told me it was one of the best books she has ever read. Once I first started reading this the author created a really good beginning and the book always made me want to keep reading. Another reason I chose to read this book was because I needed a book to read for English class.
I had heard from other people that the book was a really interesting book and that it wasn't really easy to read but wasn't too hard either. That made me really want to read the book even more since I do not like to read books that are too challenging or books I cannot understand. I was also hoping to finish reading this book before I watched the movie to see how they compared and which I enjoyed more. In this book the beginning wasn't too boring or saggy which I also enjoyed. I have never liked beginnings that are too long or too detailed I just want them to get to the good part of the book.

Fahrenheit 451
This is one of the more interesting books I've read in an
English class. I have always liked
utopian and science fiction books. Even
though the book at some parts was dull I really enjoyed a lot of it and some of
the futuristic ideas the writer had. I thought
that the relationship between Beatty and Mildred was really weird. The fact that she left without him at the end
and didn't really love him was really weird.
I was also surprised at how brainwashed the people of this country had become. They didn't pay much attention to people suffering in other countries. They also lived for having fun for only themselves. The people didn't even really care about anybody else. This book really opened my eyes to how me and a lot of other Americans are so brainwashed and need to help other countries and not only think for yourself.

Catching Fire Post #4 Voice
What's up guys! I'm back with another dope blogger post. As you could probably tell this blog will be about... Catching Fire! In the book Catching Fire Katniss and Peeta have to go on a victory tour. What's that you ask? They have to get interviewed, visit every district and do a speech. During these speeches in the beginning they were too risky with what they said but as they kept going through the districts they were less risky. It's always better to be risky because you never know what people might think.
This year was the 75th annual Hunger Games and every 25 years there's a quarter quell and something different, more challenging happens. This quarter quell has tributes from every district that had won previous Hunger Games. That could only mean Katniss, Peeta or Haymitch could be the people from District 12. Uh Oh? As you could probably guess they have the reaping and Katniss and Peeta are the tributes. Katniss and Peeta have to go in to The Hunger Games and this time it is not as easy as it was last year. This is because they are going against victors from previous hunger games. See you next week with another blogger coming at you!

Catching Fire Post #3
I understand that she didn't want to look like a coward. And she was mainly the only chance of having a rebellion against the government. If district 13 has guns or weapons or flying machines it's would be a good choice by Katniss. There's always a chance of district 13 not having all of that war stuff though. It is a 50/50 chance mainly. I personally think that it was a good choice of staying in District 12.

Catching Fire Post #2 Suzanne Collins Biography
I really like this author because I have read her Underland Chronicles series and I really like The Hunger Games. I wonder if she will have any more really good series. As an author she is more of a author who writes in series. I have enjoyed all of her books so far. I hope she comes out with another dystopian novel.
The Hunger Games Catching Fire Post #1
The Hunger Games but only one person was supposed to win, in the previous book. Now the capitol is mad because they think that a possible uprising could occur. They do not want this to happen. President Snow is watching Katniss's every move. He pops up in her house every once and a while warning her not to do anything that could hurt others, (family, friends, everybody). She does the right thing and doesn't do too much "sketchy" things while she knows President Snow is watching her every step.

Divergent Post #15
In conclusion I think this is one of my favorite books that I have ever read. Divergent is not better than The Hunger Games because it has a better plot and more bloody action. This way I won't get bored while reading. Also the author of Divergent has a few pointless scenes that bored me at times.
Divergent Post #14
If I could have a conversation with Beatrice it would be why she chose to be in the Dauntless faction knowing that it is very dangerous to be in that faction. Also knowing why she chose because she knew she couldn't see her family and possibly die. I would tell her if I were her I wouldn't of gone to Dauntless I would've stayed in the same faction Abnegation.
Divergent Post #13
The scene that best shows the personality of my character Beatrice would be when she chose to be in the Dauntless. I think this because she has no clue of what initiation in the Dauntless faction will be like. Also choosing to go to a different faction means that you will probably never see your family again. This scene proves that she is a brave, gutsy individual who wants to explore a new place and culture.
Author Biography Divergent Post #12
Divergent Post #11
The main character has changed a lot since the beginning of the book to the end. In the beginning she wasn't known by many people and didn't speak out against things. In the end she became a leader and spoke out against the wrong like the Erudite faction wanting to overthrow the Abnegation government. As you can tell she was a very influential person and was well known and loved by many.
Character Description Divergent Post #10
To describe my character Beatrice, I would say that she has blonde hair with blue eyes. Also it said in the book that she has a narrow face. She looks like your average all American high blonde cheer leader. Also she has to look like she is daring since she is in the dauntless which means fearless or determined. I think that this picture is the best resemblance of Beatrice.
Divergent Post #9
I think the author wrote this book because she has an imaginative mind. Also he must've thought that our world could turn into something like the Divergent book and also she needed another interesting book/trilogy to write. This book is a good warning to future societies about not having factions.
Theme & Summary Divergent Post #8
One should be careful on what they do to others.
In this book the Erudite tries to brainwash the Dauntless so they can overthrow the Abnegation government. But the Erudite don't know that someone who was Divergent couldn't get brainwashed. It just so happens that the main character Beatrice is Divergent so she can help the Erudite out and not get overthrown by the brainwashed Dauntless and Abnegation.

Reading Skills Divergent Post #7
I believe in the next chapter (chapter 13) the main character Beatrice will figure out what's beyond the fence of the city. I think this because she was wondering what was on it and she thought to herself that she would figure out soon. I wonder why the lock is on the outside of the fence in there city. It seems like they are trying to keep them in instead of keeping people out. This book is like the Hunger Games because it's like a future society.

Divergent Post #6
In the book Beatrice was the first one to jump off the roof into the faction. The natives didn't even go first, she didn't know what was below her! I'm excited to see how they portray the book in the movie that will come out in 2014.
Divergent Post #5 Book Recomendations
I would definately recommend this book to anyone who likes future societies or utopian/dystopian. They have a lot of futureristic ideas like factions so people separated by the way they act. Also they have to choose what faction they want to live in. If they choose to live in a different faction they have to leave there family behind forever. The main character leaves her parents factions and doesn't know what is ahead of her. This could be very dangerous since they have to be trained and qualified in order to be apart of the faction. If they don't qualify into their faction they will be factionless (homeless).

Divergent Post #4
Some real life issues in this novel are choosing who and what you want to be like in life. Such as studying every night for 2 hours, being lazy, playing sports, doing bad things, or hanging out with friends. This book has traits like selfless, honest, peaceful, intelligent, and brave. We are all grouped with our friends in society by traits we have like those, although sometimes it may be your grouped by if you play sports or if your smart.

Divergent blog post #3 CHARACTERS
The main character in Divergent, Beatrice Prior can relate to Katniss Everdeen since they are both brave. Beatrice decided to go to Dauntless which is the brave faction. Also Beatrice had to leave her family. And Katniss volunteered to go to the Hunger Games for her sister Prim. If one of them was more brave than the other it would definitely be Katniss since the odds of her winning were 1/24 and she wasn't even trained in fighting. Although Beatrice chose a different faction, not knowing what to expect and their trait was bravery I still think Katniss is more brave.

Divergent blog post #2
The main character feels confused since she doesn't know what faction she wants to be a part of and she could go into multiple factions for the rest of her life. But she doesn't know what to pick since she likes 3 of them. This book makes me think of the future and what are future societies might look like. This book makes me think of The Hunger Games since it's a future society with a different type of government. Also their citizens are put into groups like factions or districts.
First Impression on Reading Divergent
My first impression on reading the book Divergent is that it started right off making me want to read more. I don't know yet what's going to happen to her now that she knows what factions she could belong to. The book is called divergent since the main character could belong to 3 out of the 5 factions and a person who is like that is very rare and called a divergent.
I really like the book so far as I thought I would since it makes me think about the future and possibilities of what could happen in the future. I can relate to the main character because she has to make a huge decision and I've had to make really big decisions before too.

Divergent
Divergent
I chose the book Divergent because it's a fantasy book. I also heard that a lot of people read it so I decided to get it myself. The cover looks really cool because of the fire ball. The author, Veronica Roth started writing this trilogy as a college student. Now she and her husband live in Chicago and she's a full time writer.
This book is going to be a major motion picture in theaters march 2014. I usually read utopian/dystopian books and this book falls under that genre. I have read The Hunger Games trilogy and that was my favorite series that I've ever read and that was a utopian/dystopian book.
